The Dose Calculator is an easy-to-use tool that can quickly provide a conservative estimate of the dose in specific exposure scenarios, in order to verify compliance with the Exemption/ Clearance Levels defined in terms of effective dose by current regulations. For this reason, the Dose Calculator can be a useful tool for an initial risk assessment, taking into account the obligations established by D.lgvo 101/20 e smi, Titolo IV, Capo II. These assessments are also identified as prevention and protection measures against radiological risks associated with certain industrial sectors involving NORM, as specified by current regulations.

If the assessments carried out using the Dose Calculator indicate doses exceeding the Exemption/Clearance Levels (1 mSv/year for workers; 0.3 mSv/year for the representative individual), it is recommended to proceed with a dose estimation using more sophisticated models.
